Sankranti is the month of celebrating many different festivals all around India. One of the festivals Bhadon was celebrated in Uttarakhand. It is a festival of eating ghee on this day.

This festival's name in Uttarakhand was 'olkiya' or 'olgi' Sankranti.

This festival was many important in Uttarakhand culture, one of which is promoting animal husbandry and protecting animals.

In this festival we was eating ghee that's why this festival was also known as ghee Sankranti.

Kumaon was the main center celebrating this ghee Sankranti. Because Along with farming, cattle rearing used to happen in the mountains.

We know that ghee was used mainly for purposes. our ancient history ghee was used by warriors in their bodies, shoemakers them stronger. We see that ghee was used in children's hair and also

I as an Indian, know that ghee was used in every Indian house. On paratha and many food items. Maa makes ghee coting on paratha 🥙. And say that ghee makes it stronger.
