Ramos is known for his physical and aggressive style of play, as well as his leadership and ability to score important goals. He is regarded as one of the best defenders of his generation and has been included in the UEFA Team of the Year and the FIFA FIFPro World XI multiple times throughout his career.

In June 2021, Ramos left Real Madrid after spending 16 seasons at the club and signed with Paris Saint-Germain. However, in February 2022, he announced his retirement from professional football due to persistent injury problems.

Sergio Ramos began his football career at the age of 14, joining the youth academy at Sevilla FC. He quickly progressed through the ranks and made his first-team debut for Sevilla at the age of 17 in 2004. He played just one full season with the club before being signed by Real Madrid in 2005 for a fee of €27 million, a then-world record transfer fee for a Spanish defender.

At Real Madrid, Ramos became an integral part of the team, forming a formidable defensive partnership with fellow center-back, Pepe. He was also known for his ability to score goals, particularly from set-pieces, and he became the highest-scoring defender in the history of Real Madrid.

Throughout his career, Ramos was recognized for his leadership and was appointed as the captain of Real Madrid in 2015, succeeding Iker Casillas. He also served as the captain of the Spanish national team from 2016 until his retirement.

Ramos had a highly successful career with both Real Madrid and the Spanish national team. He won numerous individual awards, including the UEFA Best Defender award and the La Liga Best Defender award multiple times. He was also included in the FIFA FIFPro World XI and the UEFA Team of the Year multiple times.

Despite his success, Ramos was also known for his disciplinary record, having received numerous yellow and red cards throughout his career. However, he was considered by many as one of the greatest defenders of his generation and was highly respected by his peers and fans alike.

After leaving Real Madrid in 2021, Ramos signed with Paris Saint-Germain for a two-year contract. However, his time in Paris was plagued by injury problems, and he announced his retirement from professional football in February 2022 at the age of 36.
